Name: "Felix" / Isaac Gates
Door: original door pass (submissive)

Canon: Red vs. Blue
Canon Point: Season 13, Episode 19

Age: Canonically unknown, but my rough estimate is early thirties.
Appearance: Felix spends 99.9% of his canon appearances in full-body combat armor. I currently use Ben Barnes from his role in The Punisher as his PB.

History:

Here!

RELEVANT DUP HISTORY: Felix arrived in Duplicity for the first time in July 2021 and developed especially close relationships with Terrence Ephemera, Bialar Crais, and Literal Satan (aka DT), as well as contracting (twice!) with Agent Washington. While he had no overall issues adjusting to the city and its requirements of him, he had massive difficulties coping with significant mental fallout triggered by events that happened in his canon prior to his arrival. This led to an especially unstable stay during his duration in the city, as he had no "proper" job and instead chose to jump from temp work to temp work while also leeching off other people for supplies/material goods.

He had his first and only death in October-ish, during a mem loss event. Going into 2022, he was primarily living in the Down, usually crashing with DT. He also entered a quasi-partnership with DT, wherein he generously provided him with weapons to either sell for additional profit/fun money or keep for his own very slowly growing collection (as Wash was unwilling to provide Felix with the necessary permits to purchase his own weapons himself). He left the city in May 2022, shortly after relinquishing his armor to Ephemera.

TL;DR: Felix mostly just started a whole lot of shit, As He Does. He'll hopefully be moving in an actual coherent direction his second go-around and expanding his CR horizons vs. constantly blowing shit up for his own personal entertainment.

Personality:
Positive Trait:

CHARISMATIC, to a near insufferable degree. At the beginning of Season 13, Felix boards UNSC military prison ship the Tartarus and easily charms personnel into allowing him direct access to the bridge, then stages a hostile takeover of her crew and cargo ( see: the Tartartus' inmates ). He's an active, engaging talker who is very good at reading people and stripping whole personas down to bare basics. It's not hard for him to form and subsequently maintain interpersonal connections, even if very few of those connections are actually genuine or meaningful on his end.

IN DUPLICITY: Despite the fact that the city was often attempting to paint him in an extraordinarily bad light during particular events (for good reason!), Felix had a smattering of genuinely positive CR. He had close friendships with DT and Crais, as well as a handful of people he'd hit up every now and then for various reasons (anything from hanging out for fun to steep favors).

Negative Trait:

MANIPULATIVE, adjacent to his charisma. Felix is a ruthless manipulator who uses anything or anyone around him to further his own goals and agenda. The only cause he's loyal to is the one that's writing his paycheck at the end of the day; very little else matters to him, and he will do whatever is necessary to get the job done, no matter the cost. His manipulative behavior surfaces in numerous ways throughout the course of the series, whether he's lying to his partner or an entire army of people who believe he's on their side. Felix has no side but his own.

IN DUPLICITY: Again, adjacent to his charisma, Felix was pretty self-sufficient in Duplicity mostly because he found ways to manipulate people into giving him what he wanted. Usually it was egging people into a fight, or navigating sexual scenarios so he was in primary control of the situation (see: one of his first encounters with both Crais and Wash, and basically 90% of his interactions with Ephemera).

Negative Trait:

VIOLENT and extremely comfortable with displays of violence against himself. Felix is a mercenary and former UNSC spec ops soldier who is stated, in canon, to have been active during the ugliest period of the Human-Covenant war. His tendency toward violence and never backing down from a fight regardless of the odds is what ultimately leads to his death in Season 13.

IN DUPLICITY: This was the main trigger for 90% of Felix's prominent CR. He started a lot of fights, half the time for the sheer fuck of it. Within his first two months in the city, he nearly beat Ephemera to death, and he attempted to kill Wash during their first meeting (and then continued his attempts a handful of times after that).

Negative Trait:

SPITEFUL/PETTY combined with a short fuse and vicious temper. He holds a grudge like a motherfucker and does not forgive easily. During his worst moments, he can be baited into acting against his best interests, and he has trouble seeing beyond his own petty grievances when he feels he's been wrongly crossed.

When his partner of many years inevitably turns on him, Felix shows very little regret or remorse for his actions. He gives only momentary pause to the idea of disposing of him if it means completing the job, and even tells him that he can "die with the rest of them" for his betrayal. Felix doesn't work in shades of grey; you're either with him, or you're his enemy. He has no room for middleground.

IN DUPLICITY: The majority of his interactions with Wash were spiteful on Felix's part. He primarily contracted with Wash because he was confident in his ability to successfully manipulate him, but at the same time he hindered his own progress on this "quest" due to his pettiness and intense dislike of him. He would've gotten further had he not spent a large portion of his time in Duplicity either avoiding Wash entirely, or trying to stab him for XYZ reason of the day.

This was also the majority of his interactions with people who wanted to get to know him deeper than a surface level, see: Drake. Ya boy doesn't like to be seen. It does not spark joy.

Powers and Abilities:

TACTICALLY CLEVER, WEAPONS PROWRESS and MARKSMANSHIP — trained military operative who's been dicking around with guns and sharp pointy objects for the majority of his life; he has a keen eye for detail and is an excellent shot with a rifle, sidearm, or throwing knife.

CLOSE QUARTERS COMBAT — excels in both unarmed and armed ( re: combat knives ) hand-to-hand combat, often using his opponent's own force and weight against them to turn the tide in his favor.

PILOT-CERTIFIED — capable of piloting small-to-medium sized aircrafts and starships.

TECH-SAVVY — born in the 2500s, during a time of great technological feat and prosper; he can work his way around most unfamiliar systems with ease, though he might struggle a little with technology he views as particularly outdated or antiquated.
