[ The world tilts. And suddenly, everything is very loud. It comes back in an angry rush. The sound of the crowd, of bodies pressing close, the roar in his ears as his heart begins pounding. Ephemera scrambles back, bouncing to his feet. In stance already.

Instinct. Reflex. Far too late. There's come on his hand. Blood stained across his face, his throat.

Ephemera twitches. Someone reaches for him and he reacts instinctively. Grabs for the outstretched hand and twists. Felix is back, out of rage. And then a moment later, he's gone.
